SATMix - The World’s First High-Performance Single-Use Patient Mixing Kit

Product Name

SATMix – The World’s First High-Performance Single-Use Patient Mixing Kit

Overview

SATMix is a pioneering solution for interventional radiology, specifically engineered to bridge the gap between advanced medical technology and accessible patient care. It provides a standardized, closed-loop system for creating stable water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions, critical for the “tumor-seeking” properties required in conventional Trans-Arterial Chemo-Embolization (cTACE).

Key Features & Benefits
      • 24-Hour Ethiodized oil (commonly branded as Lipiodol) is an iodine-containing poppy seed oil used primarily as a diagnostic radiopaque contrast agent for imaging lymph vessels and the uterus/fallopian tubes, and for targeting liver tumors.

      • Oil Resistance: Constructed from specialized A-grade medical polymers validated for 24-hour resistance to Lipiodol®, preventing material degradation, cracks, and leaks common in standard polycarbonate sets.

      • Closed-System 4-Port Stopcock: Features a unique 3-way, 4-port design that enables “on-table mixing.” Clinicians can remix or refill the emulsion without ever disconnecting from the microcatheter, significantly reducing the risk of air embolism and hazardous drug exposure.

      • Superior Emulsion Stability: Engineered to produce more stable emulsions compared to open systems, ensuring the anticancer drug is effectively trapped within the tumor rather than being released systemically.

      • Tactile Precision: Includes 1 mL and 3 mL injection syringes with rotary finger grips and integrated back-stops to prevent accidental plunger ejection under high pressure.

      • 66% Cost Reduction: By utilizing a direct-to-factory supply chain, SATMix eliminates intermediary markups, allowing high-volume centers to provide specialized kits for all patients regardless of budget constraints.

Procedural Applications

SATMix is designed for a broad range of interventional procedures:

      • cTACE (HCC): Mixing Lipiodol with chemotherapy agents (e.g., Doxorubicin) for stable delivery.

      • Glue Embolization: Mixing NBCA (Glue) with Lipiodol to control polymerization and radiopacity.

      • Portal Vein Embolization: Injecting Glue/Lipiodol mixtures to occlude portal branches.

      • Lymphography: Safe injection of Lipiodol into lymphatic vessels without syringe failure.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What makes SATMix different from standard syringe sets?

Most standard syringes are made of polycarbonate, which can crack or degrade within minutes of contact with Lipiodol®. SATMix is manufactured using a specialized A-grade medical polymer validated for 24-hour Lipiodol® resistance, ensuring device integrity and patient safety throughout the entire procedure.

2. Can I remix the solution without disconnecting the catheter?

Yes. The SATMix system features a unique 4-port, continuous-flow closed-loop architecture. This allows clinicians to perform “on-table mixing,” meaning you can re-homogenize the emulsion or refill the system without ever breaking the connection to the microcatheter.

3. Does the system help prevent air embolisms?

Absolutely. Because the 4-port stopcock creates a closed-loop environment, the need for frequent disconnections is eliminated. This significantly reduces the risk of air being introduced into the delivery line during the transition between mixing and injection.

4. What is the shelf life of the SATMix kit?

SATMix offers an industry-leading 5-year expiry. This long shelf life, combined with our direct-to-factory supply model, makes it a highly efficient option for hospital inventory management and long-term procurement planning.

5. Are the syringes compatible with high-pressure injections?

The 1 mL and 3 mL syringes are specifically designed for the high-pressure demands of interventional radiology. They feature integrated back-stops to prevent accidental plunger ejection and rotary finger grips to provide maximum tactile control during the delivery of viscous mixtures.  They are not to be used on injectors as it is only for hand use.

6. Is SATMix limited to cTACE procedures?

While optimized for cTACE (mixing Lipiodol with chemotherapy agents), SATMix is a versatile platform. It is also highly effective for Glue Embolization (NBCA), Portal Vein Embolization, Lymphography, and Varicocele Embolization where precise mixing of contrast or sclerosants is required.

7. How does SATMix support clinical sustainability?

By providing a single, comprehensive kit that replaces multiple disparate components, SATMix helps reduce clinical waste. Additionally, our streamlined manufacturing process focuses on reducing the carbon footprint of the medical supply chain.

8. Is the system MRI safe?

Yes. SATMix is labeled MR Safe. It is constructed entirely of non-metallic, non-conducting, and non-paramagnetic medical-grade polymers, posing no known hazards in any MR environment.

9. How does the “Direct-to-Factory” model benefit my facility?

We eliminate the “middle man” by sourcing directly from our manufacturing partners. This allows us to offer the SATMix system at a cost approximately 66% lower than traditional competitors without compromising on clinical quality or regulatory standards.

10. What components are included in a standard SATMix kit?

Each sterile, single-use kit is a complete solution containing: one 1 mL injection syringe, one 3 mL injection syringe, one 5 mL syringe, one 20 mL mixing syringe, and the proprietary 4-port continuous-flow stopcock.  However, we can make the kit you need.
